Diploma in Management Consulting

This level 5 qualification is aimed at developing consulting knowledge, skills and behaviours to operate as a management consultant. The qualification is intended for people who want to enter management consultancy from a functional discipline, or those who wish to develop their skills, knowledge and competencies needed to operate in the field of management consultancy and towards obtaining the internationally recognised Certified Management Consulting award. Candidates who undertake the Diploma in Management Consultancy will obtain a comprehensive understanding of the profession and acquire the skill-set required for a confident management consultant.

The Diploma in Management Consultancy covers the following ten units:

Professional practice, Professional development, Organisation structure and culture, Entry & Diagnosis Interpersonal interaction, Group techniques, Communicating with impact, Managing Consultancy interventions, Effective project management, Tools and techniques for effective consulting. The Diploma can be completed in 240 hours.

It is recommended that candidates are educated to degree level or equivalent or hold a minimum of five years' business experience.

Certificate in Management Consulting Essentials

This level 5 qualification provides an introduction to management consultancy. It is intended for people who are considering a move into the profession from a functional discipline, or for those who wish to obtain an introduction to the skills and knowledge needed in the field of management consultancy. Candidates who undertake the Certificate in Management Consulting Essentials will acquire a valuable insight into the profession whilst gaining an upper hand in terms of their knowledge of the marketplace and the role of a management consultant. The Certificate in Management Consulting Essentials is a skills-based qualification and is taught using a variety of teaching methodologies, including; lectures, workshops, role play, presentations and sitting written and verbal tasks.

This qualification helps people learn about:

The consultancy role, The consultancy relationship, The client relationship, Communication for consultants, Effective project delivery, Structured knowledge, research and analysis. This qualification can be completed in 45 hours.

There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification, but it is recommended that candidates should be educated to degree level or equivalent, or hold a minimum of two years’ business experience.
